Meeting held on COVID-19 vaccination

Tengnoupal district administration organised a meeting with Church pastors on COVID-19 vaccination at PHC Moreh on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by ADC Moreh K Jadumani Singh, SDO Moreh I Dineshkumar Singh, CMO Tengnoupal Lamkhoneng Haokip and PHC Moreh MO in-charge Kh Santikumar Singh.
The meeting attended by members belonging to Pastors' Fellowship, discussed about ensuring complete vaccination of 18,000 people of Christian faith settling in Moreh block as only around 4,000 of them have been vaccinated so far.
During the meeting, ADC Jadumani made clear doubts about COVID-19 vaccination among Pators' Fellowship and maintained that doctors had never administered COVID-19 vaccine to people forcibly.
He also appealed to the pastors not to believe in rumours being spread about COVID-19 vaccine and clarified to the pastors that COVID-19 vaccine is unrelated with birth control policy and rumours on it is not true.
K Jadumani further said that COVID-19 vaccine was developed after thorough and mutual discussion by scientists from more than 100 countries including India.
During the meeting, MO incharge Dr Santikumar Singh shared his opinion on the need for vaccination of all 18,000 people of Christian faith settled in Moreh block and made it clear that only 4,000 Christians living in Moreh block have been vaccinated so far.
CMO Tengnoupal Dr Lamk-honeng Haokip also said that COVID-19 vaccination will save lives of the people apart from giving immense benefit.
