AR conducts medical camp, plants saplings

Shangshak Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted a medical camp at Mawai village in Kamjong district on Monday to assist the villagers who have no access to basic healthcare services or knowledge about the diseases they are suffering from.
According to PRO IGAR (S), individuals suffering from severe ailments were referred for detailed checkup in civil hospital and the camp culminated with distribution of medicines to the locals.
On the other hand, Churachandpur Sector of IGAR (S) extended lifesaving medical assistance at two different locations in Churachandpur district.
A 38-year old male was bitten by a poisonous spider at K Hengnol village on Monday and rushed by the villagers to the Assam Rifles medical centre with symptoms of vomiting and swelling, said the PRO in another release.
Assam Rifles medical team immediately rendered medical aid and stabilised his condition.
In another development, Khuga Battalion provided emergency medical aid to an elderly woman of remotely located border village Zou Khunou, who complained of weakness and dizziness.
Assam Rifles medical team at Zou Khunou provided immediate medical care and stabilised her condition, it added.
Meanwhile, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) along with Save Rivers Foundation organised a day long affor estation drive in Tamenglong district.
According to PIB (DW), to spread the importance of forest cover for sustainable development for humanity and planet at large a Jan Bagidhari plantation drive was organised.
The unit planted approximately 4500 saplings at various parts of Tamenglong district and Tamei sub-division including Akhui, Azuiram, Gelnel and Dikhuram villages.
The unit in collaboration with Save Rivers Foundation distributed free plant saplings in the Dikhuram area of Tamei sub division.
Similar activities were also organised in other two sub-divisions of the
district, it added.
