ILP counter opened at Jiribam rail station, DIG to head Cell

In anticipation of the reopening of Jiribam - Silchar Railway passenger line, the government of Manipur has opened an Inner Line Permit (ILP) Counter/facilitation centre at Jiribam Railway Station in order to facilitate registration for ILP of both entry and exit under the Manipur Inner Line Permit Rules, 2019 with immediate effect and in public interest, said an order issued by Home deputy secretary Roji Rajkumari.
The order informed that the government has also set up Exit Counters at Imphal airport, Mao gate and Jiribam gate for recording exit of ILP holders from the state and said that the Department of Information & Technology shall provide necessary equipment & infrastructure like computers/laptops, printers, scanners, furniture, etc, for proper functioning of the counter.
An Inner Line Permit Monitoring Cell has also constituted to ensure proper recording of persons entering and exiting the state with ILPs and track those who have overstayed and take necessary action, said another order issued by home deputy secretary.
The Cell will have Deputy Inspector General (Int) as chairperson, and Superintendent of Police CID (Technical), Joint Director (IT) and Deputy Secretary (Home) as members.
All resident commissioners of Manipur Bhawans, Deputy Commissioners and Deputy Labour Commissioner shall use the e-ILP platform after its formal launching on September 2, the order added.
