Decoration ceremony for promoted cops held

Senapati police organised a grand decoration ceremony for newly promoted assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) of Senapati police at SP office, here, on Wednesday.
SP Karthik Malladi, who attended the ceremony as chief guest, said that the district had only five ASI sometimes back but now it has 55 ASIs.
He informed that a 3-day training programme for the newly promoted ASIs will be conducted from October 10 and they will be imparted knowledge on CrPC, IPC, Evidence Act and investigation of cases.
According to Karthik Malladi, Senapati district police is now well equipped to deal with crime and law & order issues in the district.
The district has seven police stations including one women PS and the police stations at Tungjoy, Purul and Maram have been functioning effectively since the last nine months.
He stated that launching of GPS enabled NH-2 patrol vehicles in May this year has enhanced the capacity of district police to prevent and detect crime and there have been multiple instances where the NH teams intercepted vehicles escaping from police teams.
He said that night mobile and foot patrolling are being carried out by Senapati PS.
On poppy cultivation, Karthik Malladi stated that the district achieved zero poppy plantation till date with the support of village chiefs and CSOs and urged everyone in the district to contribute their mite make Senapati poppy free.
Additional SP (L/O) Thankhuchon, in his address, congratulated all the promoted ASIs and said that the promotion comes with more responsibility and urged them to give their best service to the people.
All the promoted ASIs were decorated by SP, addl SPs and other senior police officers.
Altogether 62 were promoted to ASI from head constables in the district including seven attached to CID, I/E and PHQ.
