Stakeholders' meet organised

Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Worker Education and Development, Regional Directorate, Imphal organised a Stakeholders' Meet as part of the Workers' 'Education Week' at Secure Office Complex, South Block, here, on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Worker Education and Development, Regional Directorate, Imphal regional director in-charge Naorem Somoranjit informed that the Prime Minister's vision is to train 1.2 crore workers in a year.
However, the existing 100-200 or so officers are unable to extend any assistance in this regard.
Additionally, there is the need for cooperation between leaders of workers, grassroots level activists, trainers, NGOs and those working in the field of information technology.
Thus, the stakeholders' meet was held to listen to their advices and suggestions in this regard, he added.
The programme was attended by Regional Advisory Committee chairman L Tomba; Centre for Indian Trade Union secretary Ksh Shantakumar; Indian National Trade Union Congress president Y Ranapratap; TUCC state president Kh Gyaneshwor; Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board ex-member N Amusana; and personalities working at the UN.
