With an objective to restore peace and normalcy in the state, Naga and Meitei-Pangal commu-nities will take out a peace rally in and around the capital city on the theme 'Restoration of Normalcy' on May 30.The decision to hold the peace rally was taken during a consulta-tive meeting organised Wednesday by Forum for Restoration of Peace (FRP) at Tarung community hall to deliberate on the prevailing restive situation in the state.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, FRP convenor Ashang Kasar informed that after minute discussion the meeting resolved to organise a peace rally on May 30 to promote peace and harmony in the state.

Informing that flag off and cul-mination venues of the rally will be made public after grant of permis-sion by the authorities concerned, he appealed to leaders and people of different communities to con-tribute their mite in dousing the flames of communal enmity.
Expressing pain at loss of pre-cious lives due to the riots, he prayed that such unwanted inci-dents do not recur in the future.
Stressing the need for finding who triggered the communal con-flict, Asang Kasar observed that as there is a government they should take the responsibility and bring peace in the state.
The silence of the central government over the issue even after nearly a month of tense situation and violence gripping the state is unfortunate, he said and asked the Centre to seriously look into the issue and work towards bringing a lasting solution.
As deployment of large number of security forces in the state by the centre is not an end to the issue, leaders of different communities should be consulted with for bring-ing peace and harmony in the state, he suggested.
