Imphal, April 24 2015 :
The free veterinary camp 2015 held at Keishampat near Churachandpur parking concluded on Friday with over 55 dogs turnout for various treatment.
The eight-day event was organised by Claws and Paws in association with Manipur Dog Lovers Club.
Among the dogs that came to the camp, 40 of them were treated for skin related problems and the rest were for dental check up.
Veterinary doctor Dev Kishore said, "The event was a great week-long experience with true dog lovers of Manipur.
But, a large section of people are still practicing self-medication and are seeking treatment from non-professionals for their dogs." A regular visit to a vet will help your loving animal to live long, he said.
"I would also like to thank and pay my gratitude to Manipur Dog Lovers Club for their continous effort in spreading TLC ( tender loving care) toward our true companion", said Kishore.
Veterinary staff L Arun, Ch Dinesh, L Chingkheingnaba, Kamai Gaihamlu and S Ruthi were pressed into service for the camp.
The camp received good response from dog lovers across the state.
"No words to express the excellent effort provided by the organisers of the camp.
I'm very privilege to have my dog treated at the high-class facility", said Steffi Nk of Chingmeirong.
Such camp should be held every six months, said another dog owner, Johny of Singjamei.
