BJP targeting 40-plus seats in 2022 polls: A Sharda

People of Kangpokpi felicitated BJP Manipur Pradesh president Adhikari-mayum Sharda Devi during a programme held at the multipurpose hall of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi on Thursday.
The felicitation programme was organised by BJP Kangpokpi Mandal during Sharda Devi's maiden visit to Kangpokpi district after becoming BJP Manipur Pradesh president.
Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen, ADC Sadar Hills caretaker chairman Haokholal Hangshing and Kangpokpi Town Committee chairman Lunseh Kipgen attended the felicitation event as special guests while BJP Manipur Pradesh state secretary Paokam Haokip and BJP in-charge of Sadar Hills Tingnei Lhouvum, BJP Kangpokpi Mandal president Dr Hemang Singsit were also present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Sharda Devi said that party's target in the 2022 assembly election is to get 40-plus seats and the strategy and targeted plan for achieving this was also worked out by former president (L) professor S Tiken Singh.
While highlighting various schemes and projects undertaken by the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sharda said that BJP is the only party that sees grievances of Indian women and does the needful for their welfare.
She also acknowledged the capabilities of women in nation-building and the power of women in decision making.
"It is very clear that BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced various schemes and projects for women," she said and claimed that there have been significant changes in the upliftment and welfare of Indian women since the coming of the Modi government.
She assured of putting her best effort in ensuring setting up of a government college, a cherished dream of the people Kangpokpi, at the earliest.
In her speech, MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that people of Kangpokpi are fortunate to felicitate the dynamic woman leader of the state and congratulated Sharda on her appointment as BJP Manipur Pradesh president.
She said that the government's mission like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' will not be a mockery now under the leadership of Sharda and rather it will be an empowerment of women of the state and the nation as a whole.
She also hoped to witness better relationships between the hills and valley and working collectively for the development of the state and promotion of peace.
