Imphal, October 16 2022:
While informing that preparation is being made to construct a guest house in Mumbai so that accommodation problems faced by cancer patients of the state while going for treatment could be mitigated to some extent, Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi has appealed to people not to create disturbance to the construction of the guest house.
M Tombi made this appeal during a press conference held in connection with joining of some people to Shiv Sena at the party's state office, Babupara, here, on Sunday.
According to Tombi, many cancer patients from Manipur often visit Mumbai for treatment but majority of the patients and their families face accommodation problem in the western Indian city.
However, steps have been taken up to construct a guest house in Mumbai so that the problem could be solved and Shiv Sena will take responsibility for construction of the guest house.
The guest house is being planned for construction in Kharga area of Navi Mumbai.
As per an understanding reached in 2014-15, Maharashtra government had asked Manipur government to deposit Rs 5 crore for acquiring the required land for the guest house and a total of Rs 33.86 lakh had already been paid.
State authorities had even surveyed the land but some MLAs, who are totally unaware of when to begin construction of the guest house, are objecting to the project, he said.
Shiv Sena Manipur unit has been pressuring Maharashtra government from the year 2014 for allotting land for the guest house but selfish motive of some MLAs caused delay to construction of the guest house, M Tombi said and appealed to all the MLAs concerned to work in the interest of the people and keep aside their personal interest.
M Tombi further said that Shiv Sena welcomes declaration of results of the IRB recruitment and the party supports government's step to legalise liquor in the state.
While reiterating that Shiv Sena state unit will take part in the upcoming local body elections, he expressed confidence that some candidates of the party would emerge victorious.
