Dr RK Ranjan hoists tricolour at INA Memorial

A National Flag hoisting programme attended by Union minister of state (MoS) for education and external affairs Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh was organised by the district administration of Bishnupur at INA Memorial, Moirang on Sunday, as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, to commemorate 75 years of India's Independence.
During the event, minister Dr RK Ranjan hoisted the National Flag at the memorial complex after paying floral tributes to the statue of Ne-taji Subhas Chandra.
The MoS also led a cleanliness drive at the INA complex and its surrounding area.

Family members of martyrs were also felicitated during the function.
The function was also attended by education minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh as president, while Thanga MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh, Loktak Development Authority chairman M Asnikumar Singh, Oinam MLA Irengbam Nalini Devi, Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti Singh, Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing, deputy commissioner Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram, Education (S) director Laishram Nandakumar Singh, STC-BSF Churachandpur inspector general UK Nayal and SP Bishnupur N Herojit Meitei were present as guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Dr RK Ranjan Singh stated that there cannot be a better place other than Moirang to hoist the tricolour in celebration of India's Independence.
People of Manipur can take pride of Moirang as it best symbolises our freedom struggle which will remain etched forever in the annals of India's freedom struggle.
He also said that India has made significant advancement in the sphere of technology and agricultural sector after independence.
India is able to produce two Covid vaccines apart from ensuring booster doses for its citizens when more advanced countries are struggling to add succour to the global pandemic.
Besides, it is able to share vaccines with the world under the country's guiding principle of 'The whole world is our family' through the vision and philosophy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the MoS added.
Stating that the price of freedom that our heroic forefathers paid is high, as it comes with blood, sweat and tears, MoS Ranjan encouraged the younger generation to enjoy the fruits of freedom along with igniting their dreams for an inclusive and prosperous Manipur and India.
He also mentioned that under PM Modi, National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has been formed to bring back the lost philosophy of India and to ensure that education reaches every citizen of India.
It is the responsibility of teachers and scientists to guide the nation's youth towards the right path.
NCC officers and cadets in large number, students, local communities, and government officials also participated in the flag hoisting event.
