Imphal, November 08 2015: A one-day political convention was held at the Kwakeithel Akham Leikai residence of MLA RK Anand under the aegis of the Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Block Congress Committee.

The political convention held on the theme 'Vision of Jawaharlal Nehru: An Architect of Modem India' was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam as chief guest.

Addressing the convention, Gaikhangam stated that the country is under serious threats of disintegration on account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's experiments.

Although Congress would always stand steadfast for the integrity of the country, people need to be always wary about political parties like BJP.

It was BJP which made tall claims before the 2014 Lok Sabha election that they would check inflation, eradicate corruption and bring back black money deposited in foreign banks.

But the BJP Government is still unable to translate any of their assurances into action.

The BJP-led Government has no ingenuity to formulate any novel welfare scheme for the public.

What they have been doing is re-naming schemes already launched by the UPA Government, Gaikhangam asserted.

Reacting to BJP's assertion that he signed on a declaration pertaining to Naga integration, Gaikhangam clarified that he appended his signature on the declaration under extreme threats from NSCN-IM.

It was at a time when there was no security guard at Manipur Bhavan, Delhi.

BJP is not suitable to the soil of Manipur is evidenced from the fact that there was/is turmoil in Manipur every time BJP came to power at the Centre.

Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, MLA RK Anand and many other Congress leaders too spoke at the political convention.
