ADAM demands improvement of Kakching Echo Park

Alliance for development Alternatives-Manipur (ADAM), Kakching has urged the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal district to take up necessary legal action against those responsible for the wild fire and felling of trees in and around the Angaan Ching Eco Park area and to issue a public notice in this regard.
In a memorandum, copies of which were also sent to local MLAs of Kakching and Wabagai, Chairperson of Kakching Municipal Council, Director of Environment, Manipur and APCCF, Forest Deptt., Govt.of Manipur; the ADAM demanded the DC to take action to stop illegal encroachments on public land and to initiate proper demarcation of the land occupied by Angaan Ching Eco-Park, Kakching.
The memorandum also asked to provide minimum 2 nos.of Underground Water Sources at the East and South Block of the Park in order to speed up the work for plantations and other developmental works, while demanding provision of necessary support from the Govt.of Manipur for road and infrastructure development of the park on the basis of the recommendation made in the State of Environment Report-2006.
