Women traders briefed on online marketing

Manipur State Commission for Women under the aegis of National Commission for Women organised a one day capacity building programme for women traders of Sekmai Keithel at Awang Sekmai Koujengleima SC community hall on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, social welfare minister Heikham Dingo expressed elation that today Manipur is also taking part in the global race towards development as the world is witnessing major changes with innovations in information and technology.
The workshop has been organised with the objective to improve the capacity of women traders in order to make them adapt to the changing world.
Women traders need to understand the information provided by the experts.
They need to learn to Use mobile phones, he said, while calling upon them to take maximum benefits of the various welfare schemes and activities taken up by different institutions.
He also thanked MSCW for bringing the programme to Sekmai Keithel.
MSCW chairperson Ulka Salam, in her presidential speech, said that the programme being held in Sekmai Keithel marks the culmination of the series of capacity building programmes for women traders launched by NCW chairperson and CM Biren on July 5.As part of the initiative, the commission organised five such programmes at Khwairamband Keithel in Imphal, in Ukhrul, Chandel, Ningthoukhong and Sekmai, she said.
Informing that the programme has been organ ised with the objective to educate the women traders about the new age marketing tools, she urged the women traders to adopt online marketing to take their trade to the next level.
MSCW members Thum-lip Tiningpham Mingsang, Lourembam Dayabati and T Choungsin Koireng attended the programme as guests of honour.
Experts from banks, in come tax offices and IT department also participated as resource persons.
