Imphal, April 04 2015 :
The 12-hour bandh imposed by the JAC formed against the killing of Md Naosad of Khergao Makha Leikai passed off peacefully with no report of unwanted incident at 6 this evening.
However, the bandh affected normal life at Naosad's locality, Khergao bazar and Top Khongnang Makhong.
Bandh supporters blocked roads at Khergao bazar by burning tyres and piling up hard objects in the middle of the roads.
All the shops and markets remained closed in the area.
Similar agitation was also seen at Top Khongnang Makhong area as large number of bandh supporters came out on the street and blocked traffic.
However, no untoward incident was reported during the bandh which was effective from 6 am to 6 pm.
It may be mentioned that Naosad was found shot dead inside his Verna car at Lilong Ngangou Loukon under Lilong police station at around 6 am on March 2, a day after he left home after attending a phone call.
After forming a JAC in a public meeting held at YOVA ground, Khergao Makha Leikai the same day, the locals have been demanding arrest of Naosad's killers within 24 hours.
They also threatened to launch different forms of agitation if their demand is not fulfilled.
Naosad's body is still lying at JNIMS morgue.
