Thoubal, December 02 2022:
While suspecting foul play behind the untimely death of Kshetrimayum ongbi Linthoi alias Nungsitombi (24) wife of Kshetrimayum Mahesh of Kakching Leithagol Kshetri Pareng on November 30, people of Khangabok, which is her parental side, have appealed to authorities concerned for finding out the truth about real cause of death.
Speaking to news persons at Khangabok Makha Leikai on Friday, Khangabok Part-III GP pradhan nominee M Manglemjao expressed strong suspicion that Linthoi's case could be murder.
While claiming that the statements given by the in-laws related to the case differed from that of locals of the deceased woman, he also contended that preliminary examination of the lifeless body indicates that Linthoi could have died due to torture and from consuming poison.
As such, he urged the government authorities to investigate the matter and find out the truth about it so that such incidents do not recur in the state.
Meanwhile, in connection with the incident a 'Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the suspicious death of Linthoi' has been formed.
According to JAC co-convenor Thokchom Rosan, conduct of judicial enquiry for finding the truth about the incident is imperative and expressed hope that the government will do the needful to deliver justice.
The co-convenor also cautioned of launching intense protests if government fails to heed their demand and bring out the truth.
