BJP Govt essential for peaceful Manipur: Bhoumik

Ahead of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections due in 2022, many union ministers belonging to BJP continue to visit the state as part of election campaign.
Union Minister of State (MoS) of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik, who is the latest central leader of the party to arrive here, stated that Manipur has been finally able to stay in peace due to the advent of the BJP government.
Pratima Bhoumik was given a warm welcome at Imphal Airport on Monday by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda and functionaries.
She then left the airport and attended a meeting organised at Gopinath Mandap, Ningthoukhong in Bishnupur district.
Speaking at the meeting, Pratima Bhoumik asserted that the biggest gift that the BJP government has given to the people of Manipur is peace.
She then urged the people to support the party and re-elect it so as to maintain the peaceful situation, while stressing the need for taking up activities to strengthen the booth committee members for ensuring success of the party in the polls.
Stating that PM Narendra Modi always has a special love for the northeastern region even before BJP came to power, the MoS recounted that the PM had emphasized the country's development is interdependent with the region's development.
As such, the momentum of connectivity between the region and other states including railway connection is progressing gradually, she said.
She also confided that PM Narendra Modi is well aware of the talent pool of Manipur, while mentioning the nomination of Mary Kom as a member of parliament.
PM Modi is also enthusiastic about women empowerment and as such, there are many women in the union cabinet.
The meeting was attended by state party president A Sharda and former union minister Th Chaoba along with other leaders.
The MoS also attended, meetings held at Churachandpur, Kakching and Imphal East districts.
She will leave for Delhi on Tuesday.
