Covid-free certificate must for traders in Kpi

With the district administration giving the green light for opening of grocery shops from 7 am to 10 am on alternate days in Kangpokpi, the COVID Task Force, Kangpokpi has adopted various safety measures during an emergency meeting held on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons in this regard, Haolet Khongsai, chairman CTF Kangpokpi, said that only those grocery shopkeepers having COVID free certificate will be allowed to open their shops with strict adherence to COVID appropriate behaviours.
He said that the shopkeepers as well as the shoppers shall maintain strict COVID appropriate behaviours, adding that COVID Task Force volunteers and police personnel of Kangpokpi PS will strictly monitor the shops and ensure that COVID appropriate behaviour are maintained both by shopkeepers and shoppers.
The CTF leader said that around 50 shopkeepers and some youths who went to a picnic party were detained by Kangpokpi police and got them tested for COVID-19 but fortunately all of them were found to be negative.
He further said that in order to avoid crowding and to ensure the public get enough time to buy what they want during the short relaxation period, only individual buyers shall be entertained by the shopkeepers while retailers and wholesalers shall give the list of their items and the shop owners, in turn, shall despatch the ordered items to the respective destinations by hiring vehicles, for which delivery charges should be borne by the retailers or wholesalers themselves.
The CTF chairman also informed that vegetable sellers at Nute Kailhang including door to door vegetable sellers must also obtain COVID free certificate, otherwise they shall be barred from selling their vegetables.
He then appealed to the general public not to resort to panic buying as the shops are allowed to open for three hours daily on alternate days and to strictly follow COVID appropriate behaviour while coming to the market.
Meanwhile, the COVID Task Force of Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi, Kalapahar, Keithelmanbi, Santolabari-Prasain, Tujang and Irang area started mass testing of shopkeepers in their respective areas, conducted COVID and vaccination awareness and visited home isolation patients.
