SEACO calls for State Religion

South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) has praised the Manipur Govt.for its intention to establish a Cultural University in the state.
A press note released by Secretary General SEACO expressed the hope of conserving Manipur's indigenous culture by the University and appealed not to earn illegal money in the name of culture by causing pollution and mixing with other religions.
SEACO also voiced the need of Cultural College and culture department in schools, colleges by adding indigenous cultural subjects in the curriculum apart from the University.
SEACO also demanded to make the indigenous cultural policy public so that experts in the field could contribute their precious ideas.
People who are not expert in Manipur's indigenous culture should not be appointed in any related field like VC, Registrar, Staff or Members of Expert Committee on Indigenous Cultural Policy, it added.
It further expressed the urgent need of Meetei's indigenous religion to declare as Manipur's State Religion.
