Kangpokpi, September 21 2021:
Kuki National Front (KNF), an entity of the tripartite talks with the state and central governments, has clarified over the arrested self-styled Commander-in-Chief of the Kuki militant outfit at Delhi on Monday.
The outfit's information and publicity secretary, Lh Stephen said that the reported arrest of self-styled C-in-C of the alleged KNF, a non-SoO group, by Delhi Police's Special Cell has no connection with Kuki National Front whatsoever.
He said that Kuki National Front is the oldest Kuki militant outfit and is currently under tripartite talks with the governments under the banner of United People's Front while adding that it had signed an extension.of Suspension of Operations recently with the governments.
He clarified that self-styled C-in-C Mangkholam alias David is not the C-in~C of KNF as reported in some media.
KNF is functioning under president not as C-in-C, Lh Stephen said and added that the media report of describing Mangkholam Kipgen as C-in-C of KNF is misleading and false.
He also said that as per KNF's finding, Mangkholam is a self-styled C-in-C of the KNF non-SoO group, which has nothing to do with the original KNF and it has no mandate of the people.
The establishment of a militant outfit by Mangkholam in the name of the KNF non-SoO group is nothing but to malign the good and reputed image of the original KNF, he added.
Alleging the KNF of involving in various anti-social activities despite being under SoO and tripartite talks with the governments is very unfortunate and misleading, he said and added that the outfit has to clarify to the public that Mangkholam is a self-Styled C-in-C of the KNF non-SoO group but not KNF.
The anti-social activities carried out by him cannot be blamed on the original KNF, which has nothing to do with him, he added.
