Transport Association refuses to participate in upcoming election

Kangpokpi, December 20 2016:
The Transport Association, Kangpokpi District said they will not to take part in the upcoming State Assembly election until the District Administration clears the outstanding bill in the 8-Wakotphai District Council Constituency by-election.
A statement signed by Angam Kipgen, president and Thanggin Haokip, general secretary, of the association alleged that the association had sent about 25 vehicles including 16 Shaktiman and 9 Bolero as instructed by the District Administration for use in the By-Election of 8-Wakotphai DCC on September 17.About 1430 litres of fuel were utilized for the purpose, it added.
It also alleged that the State Election Commission, Secretary, Radha Rani, has delayed the clearance of the bill till date.
On query the District Administration had informed that all the necessary document including requisition slip for sanctioning the amount was forwarded long ago.
The association will neither provide vehicles in the upcoming State Assembly election nor participate in the election if the bill is not cleared at the earliest, it stated.
