Delhi-based Manipuri lensman creates record

Delhi-based photographer Biju Samanta, who had set off on a nationwide solo cycle tour on June 3, 2022 as a novice, has won himself and his state a position in the prestigious India Book of Records for the title of "Longest Bicycle Expedition,Y for the year 2023.Biju hails from Nagampal Kangjabi Leirak under Thangmeiband assembly constituency of Imphal West district.
His journey included some of the toughest terrains, right from Khardungla Pass in Leh, which is one of the world's highest motorable road, at an altitude of 18,380 ft.
What makes the record special is that it was the first time an inexperienced person took a nationwide tour without any medical back up, aid or support vehicle, covering a total distance of 4600 km, with a total elevation of above 70,000 feet.
