8 Govt teachers suspended during surprise visit

Imphal, September 07 2015:
Eight Government School teachers, who were found teaching in different private schools, were immediately suspended during a surprise check conducted by a team led by Director Education (S) N Praveen Singh on Monday.
Related orders have been issued by the department late Monday.
Director Education (S) Praveen said that Monday's surprise check was a part of the School Education Department's initiative to develop teaching methods in Government Schools instructed by the State Education Minister and Secretary Education (S) .
The suspended teachers have been identified as Konjengbam Nishikanta Singh (UPT/SSA, Khaidem Upper Primary School), H Ngaihneng Simte (PT/SSA, Khuanggin Primary School) and Chongboi Changsan (Jalenbung Primary School, PT/SSA) who were teaching in Savio Higher Secondary School, Thangmeiband; N Lawrence Meetei (Haotak Thoubal Leikai Primary School, PT/SSA); Huidrom Radhakanta Singh (PT/Sekmaijin Khunou Komlakhong Mamang Primary School) and Khomdram Somorendro Singh (PT/SSA, Nungoo Khongyam Primary School) who were teaching in Slopeland Public School, Khongjom; Laitonjam Ratankumar Singh (PT/SSA, Lamding Khumanthem Primary School) who was teaching in Padma Ratna English School Kakching and Oinam Kumud Singh (PT/SSA, Moirang Sabal Khunou Primary School) who was teaching in Herbert School, Imphal.
One Government Contract Lecturer (Maths) was also found teaching in Herbert School and departmental procedures have been started to take up necessary action to cancel the contract.
The teachers were suspended under the powers of Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal), Rules 1965, Rule 10, Sub-Rule (1) to take up disciplinary actions by the department.
The order said that during the suspension, the teachers should be in Headquarter Imphal and shall not leave the it without the permission of the Director.
The surprise check was also carried out in Imphal West and Thoubal district and inspected few private schools.
Reports said necessary actions will be taken up against the private schools which employed the teachers knowingly and the Head Masters, concerned AI/DI/ZEO will not be allowed to get off scot-free this time.
The Director also appealed to all to contact him through his mail at [email protected] and inform the wrongdoings by Government teachers.
