Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West released the convenor of the JAC formed in connection with the death of N Babysana, Thingam Chittranjan and member Sagolsem Basanta after they furnished a PR bond of Rs 75,000 each.
It may be mentioned that the two individuals were arrested on August 9 during the protest demanding justice for Babysana.
The order was passed by CJM Imphal West after the hearing of the bail applications through their respective counsels yesterday.
Today, the Court went through the bail petitions and status report, including bail objection report filed by police and also heard the submission of both sides at length and finally directed Thingam Chittranjan and Sagolsem Basanta to be released on bail on execution of a PR bond of Rs 75,000 each with one surety of the same amount.
It may be recalled that another member of the JAC, Elangbam Joykumar was released on bail by the same Court on August 31 after furnishing a similar amount.
Altogether 14 JAC members, including three women, were arrested by police on the charge of imposing bandh and burning down the effigy of Chief Minister N Biren and Principal of Standard Robarth Hr Secondary School Ph Landhoni during the bandh imposed by JAC demanding justice in Babysana's case.
