Imphal, October 04 2015:
Naga People's Front, Ukhrul Division has slammed the Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi over the appointment of O Nabakishore as the new Chief Secretary of Manipur.
A press release signed by the General Secretary of NPF Ukhrul Division, Yangmi Ronra Shimray said that the appointment of O Nabakishore, IAS (1984) as the new chief secretary (CS) of Manipur bypassing his senior Ameising Luikham, IAS (1981) is another daring acts of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi in recent times.
The personnel service rules and existing conventions practiced all over India have been flaunted once again by CM Ibobi, added the press release.
"NPF Ukhrul Division is aware of the fact that the appointment to top post such as the CS has concurrence of the Centre Government but the prerogative for final selection lies with the State Government" said the press release and added that the NPF Ukhrul Division is greatly perturbed in the way Ameising Luikham was ignored despite his seniority.
Why the much shouted slogan "Ching-Tam Amatani" often disappears in times of promotions, asked the release while adding that "Ching-Tam Amatani" is never practiced in the state and hence the trust and confidence of hill people towards the majority Meetei has been eroded over the years.
