Imphal, September 30 2021:
Several students of the state, who are completing 6th semester courses of B Sc, BA, B Com, BBA, LLB under DM University in the academic session 2020-21, are facing problems in applying for admission in different universities due to delay in issuing their mark-sheets and admit cards.
Addressing a press meet at the university campus here on Thursday, DM College of Science students' union general secretary said that several students have not been able to apply for admission in universities outside the state as there are high chances of the universities rejecting their application in the absence of required documents.
He then appealed to the authority of the university to take up necessary measures to address the issue at the earliest.
He urged the VC of DM University to send an official communication to the VC of Manipur University for allowing these students to apply for admission.
He also urged the VC to issue official endorsement letter for students willing to take admission in universities outside the state.
He further said that the issue has cropped up due to lack of adequate staff, regular registrar and regular controller even though the university has a regular vice-chancellor.
Raising concern over the situation, he appealed to the authority concerned to declare the results of the recruitment conducted recently to fill in the vacant posts.
He also appealed to the university authority to ensure timely completion of building constructions for the university, and reduction in admission fees for academic session 2021-22 considering the hardships caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
