AJCTA demands service extension order

The All Jiribam Contract Teachers' Association (AJCTA) has appealed to the State Government to issue service extension order before June 15, reports Jiri News Network.
Speaking to media persons at Jiri Government Higher Secondary School, AJCTA vice president SP Singh said that around 13 primary teachers and lecturers were recruited in December 2014 on contract basis for three months.
The service extension order was to be issued one day after the contract ends.
However, till date the authority concerned has not initiated any step regarding the matter and has not disbursed the salaries for the month of February as well.
AJCTA president Ch Apurba Singh said that it will undertake democratic forms of agitation if the State Government fails to meet their demands by June 15 .
Due to shortage of primary and secondary school teachers in Jiribam sub-division, altogether 133 teachers were recruited on contract basis.
