Imphal, December 01 2016:
Reacting to the statement given by spokesperson of Congress Party, MLA Y.Surchandra to a discussion programme at IMPACT TV, rebel group Maoist Communist Party Manipur today questioned why the Congress government remained silent even after knowing that there are NSCN-IM camps when its party is at the centre.
In a statement, the rebel group asked why the Congress government remained a mute spectator when it was in government at centre and the state government.
When it is already known that the BJP led government at the centre came only in 2014 why the congress government in Manipur is trying to throw the ball to the Centre at a time when election is just knocking at the door, the statement added.
The statement further added that the mass uprising of June 2001 clearly showed that the cease fire between the Government of India and NSCN-IM does not extended Manipur.
So, state government is responsible for maintenance of law and order in the state.
It added that it is upto the government whether there should be a camp or not of an armed outfit.
As Congress spokesperson Y.Surchandra had said that there are NSCN-IM camps in the state, the Maoist asked why the state government is harboring the NSCN-IM for such a long time.
The armed rebel group also expressed suspicion of conspiracy between the NSCN-IM and the state government to the recent ambush to the Chief Minister.
On the other hand the Maoist called the Congress Spokesperson Y Surchandra, a 'cheat' in reaction to his statement at which he stated that State forces are not in a position to fight the NSCN-IM.
The rebel group reminded the Congress spokesperson that Chief Minister is the supreme of the Unified Command.
It alleged the state government of harboring communal forced like the NSCN-IM for such a long time when the government is conducting intensified operation against other armed rebel group of the region.
On the other hand the Maoist said that all those happening in the state is a game plan of the Okram Ibobi Singh government to take political mileage in election.
The armed rebel group further said that voicing for integrity when election is just round the corner while it harbor the group which has been trying to distort the integrity of the state for such a long time makes no sense.
