Imphal, June 17 2021:
On the 20th anniversary of the Great June 18 Uprising, Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) paid solemn tributes to the 18 martyrs, who thwarted the 'evil plot' of government of India to violate territorial sanctity of Kangleipak for appeasing a particular insurgent group.
In a release, KCP Politburo Standing Committee chairman Ibungo Ngangom asserted that what unfolded on June 18 in the heart of Imphal sent out a strong but unambiguous message to the government of India and other entities that the territorial integrity of the land is non-negotiable for the real people of Kangleipak.
But as long as Kangleipak remains under the colonial yoke, people cannot afford to drop their guard down, especially as the government of India may try to play one ethnic community of Kangleipak against another, in which case our common territorial integrity will come under more serious threat, he contended, while highlighting that today some evil vested interests are also hell-bent on creating frictions and sowing the seeds of animosity among different ethnic communities of Kangleipak.
"As such, we must all remain vigilant against such divisive elements in our midst so that their evil designs can never come to fruition", Ibungo exhorted, while reminding that every ethnic community of Kangleipak are all in the same boat.
"So let us not rock it as we sail or sink together", he added.
