MLA donates ventilators, Licypriya sends oxygen concentrators

Sagolband MLA RK Imo on Sunday provided five ICU Portable Ventilators to JNIMS to assist the hospital in tackling the rising cases of Covid-19 infections and the need for oxygen and ventilators by the patients.
On behalf of the MLA, IMC Ward No 7 corporator RK Jiten handed over the ventilators to JNIMS director Dr Th Bhimo.
JNIMS director Dr Th Bhimo thanked the MLA for the assistance, while stating that ventilators are critical requirement in Covid management and will be used for saving lives of patients admitted to JNIMS.
On the other-hand, after saving lives of COVID-19 patients, who desperately needed medical oxygen across India, nine years old climate & environment activist Licypriya Kangujam has started saving lives of COVID-19 patients in her home state (Manipur) by sending oxygen concentrators free of cost.
As soon as oxygen concentrators sent by Licypriya from New Delhi reached Imphal airport, one such machine was despatched directly to a patient residing at Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai after the patient's daughter contacted the young climate activist through Facebook.
The oxygen concentrator sent by Licypriya saved life of the woman patient and family of the woman thanked the young climate activist for her humanitarian service.
Since Saturday, Licypriya has been able to save lives of three COVID-19 patients of Manipur by providing oxygen concentrators.
In all, 100 more oxygen cylinders for Manipur sent by the young child will be reaching Imphal soon, informed a statement issued on behalf of the climate activist.
Shocked after seeing people succumbing to COVID-19 due to lack of oxygen at a hospital in Delhi in the last part of April, Licypriya purchased 100 oxygen machines from China from her own savings and money she collected from different awards.
After seeing her selfless service for the mankind, around 2000 people across the globe have donated more than Rs 60 lakh to the young activist and she had saved lives of several people of West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh before saving lives of COVID-19 patients in Manipur, the statement added.
