Imphal, December 03 2021:
Observing that the vaccination rate among teaching and non-teaching staffers of private schools in the state is comparatively low, Ail Manipun Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association, Imphal (AMRPSWA) stated that all staffers of private schools should fully vaccinate against Covid-19 .
In a release, AMRPSWA secretary N Joykumar pointed out that many private schools failed to submit vaccination certificates and Manipur is one of the states which have low vaccination rate among school teachers.
As such, conduct of physical classes for lower classes has been delayed.
Recalling that a meeting chaired by director of education (S) L Nandakumar was held to discuss the said issue at Samagra Shiksha State Implementing Society, Manipur state project director conference hall on November 29, Joykumar said that several resolutions were adopted during the meeting.
He continued that the association has started to take up vaccination programmes for schools that have low vaccination rate.
Teaching and non teaching staffers of private schools should fully inoculate against Covid, he added, while urging to take the vaccine at the vaccination centre proposed by ZEO.
Those who have difficulty in getting the vaccination could contact the association.
Vaccination van could also be called at any spot if there is over nine people willing to get inoculated.
Joykumar further exhorted private school teaching and non-teaching staffers to co-operate with the initiatives of vaccination programme taken up by director of education (S) so as to resume physical classes for students of lower classes as well.
