IIT- Indore EBSB team visits tourist spots

Imphal, March 30 2023:
A 55-member team of,Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore, Madhya Pradesh including five faculty members, which is on a tour of the state under 'Yuva Sangam' programme of Government of India's 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)' initiative, on Thursday visited Imphal Peace Museum, Sangai Ethnic Park, Keibul Lamjao National Park, Loktak lake & Karang island, INA Memorial and INA Headquarters.
The IIT-Indore contingent is be ing hosted by National Institute of Technology (NIT), Manipur.
The team first visited Imphal Peace Museum, Maibam Lotpaching where they had an interaction with Bishnupur deputy commissioner L Bikram and ADC Boby Sharma who answered various questions from the students.
Later, the team met with Loktak Development Authority (LDA) chairman M Asnikumar at LDA office, which coordinated the team's visit to Loktak and surrounding areas.
He welcomed the team from MP and encouraged the young minds to explore the rich heritage and culture of Manipur.
Pointing out that Loktak lake is the cradle of Manipur's civilisation, Asnikumar stated that the lake is a threatened one due to many manmade challenges and unplanned development for the last forty years, but now they are going to rejuvenate the whole lake under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The team also visited the INA War Museum and newly transformed INA Headquarters where they were given a guided tour.
In the evening, the visiting delegation was taken to Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Compound, where its secretary Sunzu Bachaspatimayum gave a historic perspective on Manipuri cinema as well as a guided tour of the newly started film archive.
A critically acclaimed film 'Eikhoigi Yum' was also screened specially for the visiting delegation.
