NPF gears up for LS polls

Pulling up its sleeves to face the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, Naga Peoples Front (NPF), Manipur state has launched its 'membership enrolment drive' yesterday.
The party also thoroughly deliberated its strategies in a mammoth meeting in Imphal attended by its state unit leaders.
Divisional presidents and secretaries from the districts of Churachandpur, Chandel, Ukhrul, Senapati, Sadar Hills and Tamenglong along with youth and women wing of the party participated in yesterday's event.
"Our party will field a candidate in Outer Parliamentary constituency of the state and for that we are here today to prepare for it," said NPF, Manipur State president Soso Lorho.
He also said the seed that the party had sown has grown and is blooming today.
"We will soon start enjoying the fruits of it," assured Soso Lorho.
He then urged the people to lend their supports heartily.
Former MLA K Raina, one of the vice presidents of the NPF, Manipur State said enrolment of membership on the table is not acceptable to the party.
"The functionaries of NPF will go to each and every village and enrol the names of the party members," said the former MLA, adding,"Our party is not like other political parties who enrol the names of the members on the table" .
NPF, Manipur State general secretary Athuan Abonmai said the enrolment programme will be over by October and the party will have a massive 'state level political conference' in November.
