Imphal, August 19 2014:
Manipur BJP unit on Monday called for regular meeting of All Political Party Committee on Inner Line Permit system issue and threatened that the party would take a stand if the Committee was not committed to bringing a clear solution to the matter soon.
The ILP Committee set up by Manipur Government is lacking coordination making it a dull group, state BJP spokesperson RK Sivachandra alleged while addressing media at the party office here.
He said the revitalised ILP movement is intensifying, so the Committee needs to meet on regular basis.
Sivachandra also took a jibe at the Congress Government headed by Okram Ibobi Singh over the ILP issue and warned the Govt against trying to divert the attention of the people from issues.
Citing the foreigner issue in Assam, the BJP spokesperson said the Government of that state has already produced a white paper on it while Manipur Government has been unable to come out with the same till date.
He demanded that the state Government to send its officials to states like Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Mizoram to learn how they have been preventing entry of outsiders into their respective states.
Manipur Pradesh BJP will always stand by the people in their fight for implementation of ILP system in the state, Sivachandra added.
