'Waa Pambi' discussed

A discussion programme on 'Waa Pambi', a book of poems written by Nabakumar Oina was organized by Patriotic Writers' Forum Manipur at Hotel Krishtina here today.
Giving his observations as the Moderator of the discussion, Prof Jodhachandra Sanasam, president of the Forum, said that a writer should be an intellectual and be able to touch hearts of the readers.
Writers also have the absolute rights to come up with views and criticisms of the society.
But he or she should be able to talk, think and act wisely.
Stating that many people prefer using money and muscle power in today's world to achieve their goals, Jodhachandra maintained that for obvious reasons, writers and revolutionaries have the tendency of seeking healthy war regardless of their personal condition and position but unfortunately the trend has now focused on demand only.
Elaborating on 'Waa Pambi' book, he pointed out that the book uses strong and expressive words, touching minds of readers and hailed the writer for coming up with such well appreciated book.
Dr Moirangthem Priyobarta, who was one of the speakers on the book under discussion, observed that apart from conveying wisdom, 'Waa Pambi' has a sense of originality and science.
He also exhorted that the time has come for writers to write books after fully knowing and grasping subject matter.
