Programme on Training of Master Trainer in Nutrition Education begins

A five-day long programme on Training of Master Trainer in Nutrition Education being organized by Community Food & Nutrition Extension Unit, Singjamei Chingamathak under Ministry of Women & Child Development began at its office here today.
The inaugural function was attended by L Gyanendro Singh, Councilor of IMC Ward no 15 and Ch Tampakleima Devi, SO (SNP), Social Welfare Department as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Tampakleima said that a total of 20 people including 18 Supervisors of Social Welfare Department are taking part in the training programme during which the trainees will be taught about preparation of nutritional foods, children health, balance diet and its benefits.
She further said that the trainees will impart the knowledge which they gained from the training programme to those people who prepare mid day meal in anganwadi centres and primary schools.
S Bihari Singh, demonstration officer of Community Food & Nutrition Extension Unit who was also present during the occasion stated that such purposeful training programme is being held twice or thrice a year under the aegis of Ministry of Women & Child Development and informed that in the ongoing programme, 10 Resource Persons including two from RIMS, two from Social Welfare Department, one each from a NGO, Health & Family Welfare, CAU, State Health Department and Regional Health & Family Welfare will conduct practical demonstration meant for the trainees.
