Entry to Leimaram Waroiching prohibited

Leimaram Waroiching Meira Paibi Lup secretary L Thashana Devi has informed that entry to Leimaram Waroiching has been prohibited till July 30 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking to newspersons on the sidelines of barring the entry of visitors to the area on occasion of Kang festival on Monday by volunteers of local club/organisation and Village Committee, Thashana pointed out that as there is possibility of positive cases among the visitors to Leimaram Waroiching, all entries to the tourist spot have been prohibited as part of precautionary measures.
She then urged for support from the people in this regard and to prevent the spread of the virus.
On the other hand, on getting information about the presence of revellers at Leimaram Waroiching area, Bishnupur District Police carried out a drive and detained many young men, who were found partying at Leimaram Waroiching Waterfall.
They were made to pay fine, while those with no means of paying the fine were left off after imparting proper awareness on the matter.
Speaking to newsperson in this regard, Nambol Police Station OC K Subashchandra Singh termed as regrettable of parents/guardians to allow their wards to go out amidst the second wave of the Covid-19.Such careless behaviour is hindering the state from beating the pandemic, he said and urged all concerned to understand the seriousness of the situation and act accordingly.
