Govt urged to evacuate youth stranded in Kazakhstan

Family of a Manipuri youth, who is stuck,in Kazakhstan, has appealed to the Indian government to evacuate him immediately.
Luiramsing Zimik, a resident of Mapao Zingtun (Khullen) village in Manipur, was on his way back to India from South Korea.
He arrived at Almaty, Kazakhstan on January 5 and is stuck there since then.
According to Rev Ngamlei Zimik, father of Luiramsing Zimik, his son is studying Theology in Hoseo University Seoul, South Korea.
He said that his son was on his way back to India but he got stranded at Kazakhstan due to suspension of flight services there.
Rev Zimik informed that he has also written to RK Ranjan, MOS of External Affair Minister for help in swift evacuation of his son from Kazakhstan.
"There was no prior information that the airport was non-functional.
Only on reaching the airport, it was known that flights were not operating.
Citizens from other nationalities were picked up by the own Embassies while my son is stranded at a hotel Mika City Room 303 151/34 KUNAYEVMTR STR," Rev Zimik said in the letter.
Luiramsing Zimik reportedly boarded Asiana OZ 577 plane on January 5, 2022 and arrived in Kazakhstan on the same day.
He was supposed to take Air Astana KC 907 from Almaty on January 6 to reach New Delhi on January 8 .
