The All Manipur DPC Completed Candidate of Police Constable, Male, 2013, has declared a 48 hours total shutdown in the State from tomorrow midnight, following the failure of the State Government to announce the recruitment results till date.
On the other hand, the association also condemned the State Government for announcing the recruitment of IRB Jamandar and warned against continuing with the process unless the DPC results of the police constable are declared.
The announcement was made by the president of the association, Laimayum Nandakishore Sharma on the sideline of a protest demonstration headed for the Chief Minister's Bungalow by the members of the association and their family members.
Nandakishore stated that the association has submitted a number of memos demanding announcement of the recruitment result at the earliest but the Government has been ignoring the appeals till date.
Strongly condemning the Government for announcing the recruitment of IRB Jamandar by ignoring the police constable DPC results, he alleged that this act of the Government is violation of human rights and also warned that agitation will continue until the demand is met.
On the other hand, Imphal West district police personnel prevented the protest demonstration from being taken out in front of the CM bungalow today afternoon.
According to a source, a large number member of the All Manipur DPC Completed Candidates of Police Constable (Male Civil) 2013 and family members took out a protest demonstration from nearby Manipur Dramatic Union, holding banners and placards, and headed towards the CM bungalow, but the police team, who had been kept on alert near Moirangkhom oil pump, prevented the protesters from going any further.
The protesters tried to forcefully proceed forward which resulted in a minor scuffle between the two sides.
After the arrival of a large number of police personnel, the situation was finally brought under control.
