Imphal, January 08 2009:
THE HEAD office of the directorate of information and public relation (DIPR) has been shifted to the MSRTC complex, Moirangkhom as temporary arrangement till its new building at Keishampat is complete.
The shifting of the office to its temporary place is related with the state government's move to make full proof security to the chief minister's bungalow which has been under bomb attack by the militants at least two times in the recent times.
The decision of the government to shift the office was taken in the wake of the blasts inside and nearby the bungalow.
Earlier, authority considered for taking over the land by the police headquarters which is located just on the south of the DIPR or to become a part of the chief minister's bungalow.
But with the Union ministry of home affairs agreed to provide Special Security Guard (SSG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for the chief minister, government has decided to convert the office into accommodation centre of 75 SSG which would be detained as security guard of the CM MHA has recently agreed to the provision of the 75 SSG personnel including three women personnel as security guard for the state CM.
The same is likely to deploy from coming February.
Meanwhile, the official works of the DIPR at the new office inside the MSRTC complex will commence from January 12 as till that day government offices will remained close.
