Training programme launched

N Benjamin Tao, ADC Executive Member today launched a training programme of Samarth scheme for capacity building in textiles sector at Barak Handloom Enterprise Hall, Paona Colony, Senapati in the presence of RN Hanah, president, SDWA and its executives, HK Baro, Dy Director, Weavers' Service Centre and women folk from the district, today.
Speaking on the occasion, N Benjamin stated that such a scheme would bring many benefits to the womenfolk in the district and would be a great source of income for livelihood.
He also assured to inspect the training programme and assist those who completed the training successfully.
H Solomi, proprietor of Barak Handloom Enterprise, stated that it is fortunate for the district to have such facilities at the doorstep, while RN Hanah lamented that the training programme would help in promoting the rich culture, traditional attires and identity of the tribal people.
Hanah also said that examination will be held at the end of the training and 100% placement will be given to the trainees after the completion of the course.
Altogether nineteen weavers will be selected for the training and stipend will be given for the course.
