Jiribam, September 04 2021:
Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF), Jiribam district committee and KSO Jiribam and Tamenglong district unit have welcomed appointment of two botany teachers for Borobekra Higher Secondary School and one chemistry teacher for Jiribam Higher Secondary School.
The two student organisations, however, demanded revocation of transfer order of one geography teacher from Jiribam Higher Secondary School if no replacement is made and appointment of a geography teacher for Borobekra Higher Secondary School and mathematics teacher for Jiribam Higher Secondary School: According to MSF Jiribam president Atom Rajib, Borobekra Higher Secondary School has no teacher in geography department while Jiribam Higher Secondary School has no teacher in Mathematics department.
One geography teacher was transferred from Jiribam Higher Secondary School recently but there has been no replacement.
The matter was placed to the notice of the education director (S) but the latter insisted on submission of a written application, Rajib said while strongly condemning the indifferent attitude of the education department officials.
He then queried if written request is needed for transfer and posting of teachers.
Briefing media persons at the MSF Jiribam office at Babupara in the presence of KSO unit executives, Rajib urged authority concerned to provide adequate teachers for smooth functioning of Borobekra and Jiribam higher secondary schools at the earliest.
He also warned that MSF and KSO Jiribam & Tamenglong unit will launch intense forms of agitation including closure of ZEO Jiribam office and government schools in Jiribam if the government fails to depute requisite teachers for the two higher secondary schools.
