Training programme on Kharif maize seed production held

Tengnoupal, May 03 2018: A training programme on Kharif maize Seed Production and Information Communication Technology in Agriculture was conducted at Loikong village, Tengnoupal.

Ts Leenda, ACTO (Plant Breeding), KVK Chandel and D Doungel, Technical Officer (Computer), KVK Chandel and Melthra Tarao, Cluster Coordinator, Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission, Tengnoupal attended the event as resource persons.

Ts Leenda, ACTO (Plant Breeding) spoke on "Package of practices on seed production of kharif maize" .

She exhorted the farmer to adopt seed production and enhance their earnings to sustain their livelihood.

She also urged the farmers to adopt improved jhum practices and terrace cultivations to save the environment and natural resources.

D Doungel, Technical Officer (Computer), KVK Chandel spoke on the role of social media in agriculture.

He explained the importance of mobile advisory and encouraged the youth of the villages to incorporate information technology in agriculture.

The programme was organized by Loikong Village Authority in collaboration with National Rural Livelihood Mission, Tengnoupal and KVK Chandel.
