Manipur observes doctors' day

Indian Medical Association Manipur State branch observed Doctors' Day on Wednesday at IMA Hall Lamphelpat.
Speaking on the occasion Dr O Ibomcha Director of State Health Services said that the day is observed in memory of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who dedicated his life as doctor.
Dr Roy even after he became the chief minister of his State gave first priority in caring for his patients.
His passion for serving and curing the patients is fondly remembered and in memory of his tireless efforts Doctors' Day is being observed Dr Ibomcha said.
Answering to a query on hospital management and mob justice , Dr Ibomcha said that the roaster system in Health centres is a weak point in dealing with an outbreak of mob justice.
When the doctors are posted at one time they would be able to face any unwanted or unfortunate attack.
On the occasion the doctors in the gathering resolved to concentrate on human service and to follow the regulation of medical council 2002 .
Two doctors, Dr K Naresh kumar former professor and HOD Department of Opthalmology RIMS AND Dr W Gyaneshwar former professor and HOD Department of biochemistry Rims were honoured on the occasion.
The day was also observed at Tele medicine department RIMS.
An online interaction with Indian Medical Council headquarters New Delhi for an hour marked the day.
Dr Kala president of IMA Manipur branch said that Manipur is the only place where Allopathy and Ayush treatment are done in a single hospital complex.
It confuses the doctors as these are two separate treatment, he also brought up the issue during the online interaction but the doctors at the headquarters have not answered as they have not come across such incident.
He also said that Yoga is already banned in Russia.
