NRHM is boon for rural people: Chandel DC

The service of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is a boon to the rural areas, Deputy Commissioner of Chandel Th Chittaranjan Singh, IAS, has stated.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the District Level Mobile Distribution Function to the ASHAs, AFs, ANMs and SNs which was organized by the District Programme Management Unit Chandel at the conference hall of DRDA, Chandel yesterday.
SDO Chandel Shyamlal Poonia, IAS and CMO Chandel Dr.Nabakishore Singh were respectively Guest of Honour and President of the function which was also attended by a host of district level officers including NRHM staffs.
Chittaranjan Singh pointed out that ASHAs are the route through which information about health services and hygiene goes to the public residing in the rural and far flung areas.
Therefore, mobile phones are being provided to them as per guidelines to facilitate instant health service delivery system.
The Deputy Commissioner explained that NRHM is only a supplementary and it is not replacing or substituting the existing health care services and system.
NRHM is to bridge the gap in the health sector for the betterment of people living in rural people.
Shyamlal Poonia and Dr.Nabakishore also spoke on the occasion.
Altogether 603 mobile phone handsets with BSNL SIM cards were distributed among the ASHAs, ANMs, SNs and AFs of Chandel District on the occasion.
