PDCC extends assistance

Imphal, May 28 2017:
Thounaojam Loyangamba, the
4th position holder in the
Commerce stream of the
Higher Secondary
Examination 2017 conducted
by COHSEM, was felicitated in
a function organised by Peace
and Development Coordinating
Committee (PDCC)
at Yumnam Khunou yesterday.
Members of the committee
and numerous individuals
pooled in to hand over a sum
of Rs 1,00,100 to
Loyangamba as financial assistance
for his academic
pursuit and as motivation.
Speaking at the event,
PDCC advisor N Rajendro
said that corruption should be
completely rooted out from
the State in order to let deserving
and bright students
shine and become successful.
He said that it is high time
for the authority concerned to
look into schools and institutions
which harass its
students because of failure to
pay their fees and also added
that the schools should investigate
the economic conditions
of students' family before taking
harsh actions against the
students for failure to pay
their fees.
He assured that PDCC
would take up steps to help
the hard working yet poor
students of Khundrakpam
and Saikul A/C and further
conveyed that it is necessary
to motivate and help the students
of remote villages and
hill areas who cannot afford
to go to schools.
Rajendro stated that PDCC
would meet the officials concerned
of JNIMS to provide
appropriate treatment for
Loyangamba's father.
Speaking at the felicitation
event, Loyangamba expressed
gratitude to all the parties and
individuals for their help and
support.
He said that he began to
work as a labourer after their
family began to spiral into
poverty as his father sold off
all their land to pay for a
Government job.
Loyangamba's mother
Thounaojam (o) Ichal also
expressed gratitude to all
those who provided support
and help to her son.

as many eminent personalities
were present at the event.
