Imphal, December 23 2021:
It is shocking for BJP to make the claim that the law and order situation in the state has improved, especially considering the brazen kidnapping right under the nose of the Chief Minister and subsequent murder of an innocent civilian, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) working president T Mangibabu has remarked.
A one-day political conference for Lamsang AC intending INC candidate Manibabu Likmabam was organised by Imphal West 1 District Congress Committee at Maklang Bazar on Thursday.
Speaking as chief guest of the conference, T Mangibabu urged the denizens of Lamsang AC to cast their votes for Congress in the upcoming polls.
A democracy is a government of the people.
This should be understood by the public in detail, he added.
Commenting on the poor English speaking skills of an incumbent legislator, Mangibabu said that such poor skills cannot rectify the past wrongs.
It is only at the time of election that an elected representative could be replaced; he said and urged the people to use the upcoming opportunity to the fullest.
Mangibabu then, recounted former Congress leader Brajabidhu (now deceased) and expressed dissatisfaction over his (Brajabidhu) wife's decision to join the NPP.
Stating that BJP is an anti-people and anti-farmer patty, the working president said that the party is for the wealthy and the pro-Hindus.
However, it must be remembered that India is a secular country.
Additionally, the Go to Village programmes are appreciable but the rural areas cannot experience development only with the mere visit of CM.
It needs allocation of specific funds in the budget, he asserted.
Mocking at BJP's claim of winning 40 seats in the upcoming polls, Mangibabu remarked that the party is now not in agreement with its allies, namely NPF and NPP.
It is possible BJP will cease to exist by 2024 polls.
The people now are well aware of BJP's true face behind the mask; he said and urged the people to elect Congress candidate in Lamsang AC.
At present, there are two intending INC candidates for Lamsang AC.
The candidate most favoured by the people will be given the party ticket, he added.
In his speech, Manibabu Likmabam assured of prioritising the education sector if he is elected.
He then commented on the viral video of Lamsang representative's poor English skills, saying it is both embarrassing and humiliating.
BJP should realise it cannot win the votes of people with sheer force but by winning the trust of the people, he contended.
The conference was also attended by many MPCC office bearers.
