AR recovers warlike stores, nabs UGs

Imphal, July 19 2014 :
Based on specific intelligence regarding buried cache of weapons of a UG group in Aishi Top, troops of 21 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South) launched an operation in the general area of Aishi Top and recovery a cache of warlike stores on 18 July, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
The warlike stores include one M 16 Rifles, two Carbine Machine Guns, two 7.62 mm barrels, seventy-three live rounds of 7.62 mm Rifles, six live Lathode shells, ten live rounds of 12.7 mm, seventeen roun ds of 5.56 mm, two magazines of M-16 Rifle, two magazines of Carbine, two magazines .303 Rifles and a Chinese Hand grenade.
The recovered items were handed over to the Lilong Police Station.
In another incident, troops of 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a vehicle check post at Lilong Bazar and apprehended one KCP (MC) cadre on July 18 who was travelling in a suspicious looking black colour Motor cycle (Discovery 150 CC) without Registration Number.
One 9 mm Pistol with magazine, four live rounds and Rs 23190/- (Indian currency) were also recovered from the apprehendee identified as Jiten Singh alias Tomba, aged 46 yrs, S/o Late Mongljao Singh, resident of Kakwa Lamdaibung Leikai.
The apprehendee alongwith the recovered items were handed over to the Lilong Police Station, the PRO informed.
