DH CCpur overwhelmed by breathless children

District Hospital Churachandpur is reporting rising incidents of sickness amongst children with high fever and breathlessness, which has resulted in sights of children lying criss-cross on the veranda of the hospital.
This correspondent witnessed the heart-wrenching scenes during a visit to DH Churachandpur on Sunday.
"My son had fever and when we admitted him to the District Hospital he developed breathing problems and now he is on oxygen support," Thanlian, the father of Lianjohn, who was struggling for his life told this dairy.
The father further stated that his one and half year old son's condition improved and was discharged earlier, but they had to readmit him again when his condition deteriorated.
As of now, 100 paediatric patients were admitted to DH Churachandpur and 60 of them were discharged.
Two of the patients have tested positive for Covid-19, a two-month old and another two-year old.
In-spite of the hospital's children ward having only 27 beds; many children are being admitted with each passing day and as of now 40 to 50 are now on oxygen support.
The situation is alarming but many doctors are tight-lipped to elicit any words even if queried about the ground realities.
