AGM distributes food grains

Action for Greening Manipur (AGM) today distributed food grains to the beneficiaries of "Grow one million avocado trees project" which was launched recently.
The initiative came in the wake of the assurance given by AGM Ambassador Adim Pamei that the Society will provide free food grains to the families who plant larger number of avocado plants in every four months for a period of three years under the project.
Speaking to media, Ningshen Wungrei of Tongkoi Village who planted over 200 avocado saplings under the Grow one million avocado trees project exuded confidence that he would be able to earn around 9 lakh rupees when the avocado saplings mature in 3 years.
Further pointing out that avocado plantation will boost the economy of many farmers in the State, he also stated that the initiative will go a long way towards conserving the environment.
AGM Member, Graceson who took part in the event assured that the society will pave way for marketing facilities to avocado farmers.
He also sought public support in making the project successful.
