No biasness in rationalization of Govt teachers: Education Minister

Contending that the ongoing rationalization process is being done with the goal to improve the education system in the State, Education Minister M Okendro has asserted that there was no biasness on part of the government regarding the rationalization process and appealed to all government teachers to refrain from calling bandh and strike as it will have adverse impact on the students.
The Education Minister made the statement while attending a function held for distribution of prizes to selected government teachers presented by Romi Industries at Hotel Imphal here today.
Speaking as the Chief Guest of the function, Okendro said that the government is planning to produce bright students from government schools in coming years and maintained that the performance of students studying in government schools in board examinations has improved considerably due to the relentless efforts put in by its teachers.
He lauded Romi Industries for taking up such initiative as recognition of the government teachers dedicated much towards producing good students is necessary.
Assuring that some palpable errors in the ongoing rationalization process will be fixed after an in depth examination, the Minister informed that a transfer policy will be formulated after the end of the process.
As the government is giving top priority in education, steps will be taken up to earmark required fund for strengthening the sector in 14th Finance Commission, Okendro added.
P Vaiphei, Commissioner of Technical & Higher Education who was also present at the occasion as Guest of Honor said that many award presentation ceremonies for meritorious students are being held in different parts of the State but teachers are rarely honored in such function.
He also hailed Romi Industries for taking a lead role in producing good students mainly from government schools which are lagging behind as compared to private schools in terms of infrastructure and other needful facilities.
